Hey everybody...
...so I have a favor to ask....
...I was hoping you guys could dig around in your memories and favorite books and submit to me some poetry or other readings that might be good for our wedding. We do have one thing picked out but we haven't even started on writing the ceremony and I'd love some more material to work with. I googled a lot and keep coming up empty, plus it would mean more to us if it came from one of you! Gimme whatcha got. Love Jess

My favorite piece of poetry is Samuel Coleridge's Kubla Khan. It's probably not appropriate for a wedding, though. Maybe too much opium.
Kubla Khan
How about some Rumi?
This or one of these might be good.
i carry your heart with me
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
I forget where I this but I think its touching GG
Hey Jess -
We had Amanda Angel and her dad sing/play guitar to Paul Stookey's "The Wedding Song." Kinda folky.
